Made no impact in point-to-points in five starts only completing on two occasions and unseated rider on latest start. Now with a yard that do well in this sphere but would need to improve to take a hand here given his point-to-point form.
Yard have a very good record with bumpers and at this track in particular (37% strike-rate). Cost €40,000 as a three-year-old and has some decent relations in his pedigree and expected to show up well on his debut given the track record of the yard here.
Has performed well in his two starts in bumpers; progressing from his debut at Newcastle last time out over C&D. His last run showed that he wasn't quite the finished article but he did travel well and still looks to have scope for further improvement.
A rare bumper runner from a powerful Northern Flat stable who showed up well on his debut at Catterick recently. Form of that race has yet to be tested but it looked a decent contest and this Flat-bred may do better with that run under his belt.
Has only shown some poor form in bumpers with the better of her two runs coming last time out at Catterick. Has work to do with Golden Jeffrey who finished third and she looks to have a tough task again.
Forecasts
Golden Jeffrey (5/4), Dunly (5/2), Trigger Nichol (5/1), Northern Girl (9/1), Robert De Bruce (14/1), Mr Sandgate (25/1)
Just a small field bumper to conclude the card and the conundrum is, as with a lot of these races, whether the experience of some will be able to hold off the potential of others. The experience here comes in the shape of both Dunly and GOLDEN JEFFREY. The latter being a rare runner under the jumps code for Mark Johnston who showed up well on his debut, in what looked a good race, so he gets the nod over his twice-raced rival Dunly. Trigger Nichol represents the unraced brigade and with his stable having such a good record at the track it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make a good fist of this on debut.
1. Golden Jeffrey
2. Trigger Nichol
3. Dunly
