Trainer's horses tend to improve for a run or two in these events, as they are inevitably green and learn on the track. However, she's bred for a bit of speed and might enjoy this test. Yard do well with their runners here (5-10 last five seasons, although no bumper runner in that time).
Sets the clear standard on her neck second at Towcester last time, travelling well and only just getting run out of it. Handled Doncaster well on her debut, so no reason to think this track will give her any issues, and clearly the one to beat.
Half sister to modest winning chaser Rhapando, but showed little on her debut at Uttoxeter, her effort soon petering out. Tongue tie joins the hood today, and needs to show a lot more to get involved.
Bred to stay well, and the useful Pocket Aces is in the family, but trainer rarely has a bumper winner and not hard to think this one will be better for the experience today.
Trainer has a tremendous record in these events, but this one didn't show much in her debut at Hereford, her race probably run before she got to the start (misbehaved in the paddock). Is probably better than that, but couldn't be put up with any confidence until settling better.
Half sister to both the useful chaser Klepht, and also Welsh Shadow, so bred to be useful. Yard do well here and although she might find this a sharp test first time up, certainly not discounted.
Half sister to the yard's useful Mercian Prince, but this one was simply too green to do herself justice in a junior bumper at Wetherby in January, hanging when asked for effort. Will have come on for that, but still asking a lot to take this.
Bred to have a bit of speed, but faded quite quickly on her debut (only a 5-1 chance, not unbacked) and to that end, gets the first time cheekpieces today to help her concentrate. The big plus for her is the yard form in bumpers here - three winners from four runners over the past five seasons.
Will need a trip in time, and might find things happening a bit quickly, but local yard (in good form) do okay here, although they rarely have bumper winners. One for the future rather than today.
Forecasts
Molly Childers (8/11), Witham (9/2), Whatzdjazz (6/1), Wellingtonbridge (9/1), Potters Sapphire (16/1), Mercian Princess (16/1), Dauphiness (25/1), Monar Rose (50/1), Stonebrigg Legend (50/1)
MOLLY FLANDERS sets the standard here after two solid efforts and can put her experience to good use to get off the mark. The tight track shouldn't pose a problem and she can win at the expense of Potters Sapphire, who was expected to do better first time up but he trainer has such an excellent record in bumpers here that she can't be ignored. Wellingtonbridge needs to settle better so Dauphiness may be able to grab third on her debut.
1. Molly Childers
2. Potters Sapphire
3. Dauphiness
