Future plans for Zarak remain fluid following his narrow reverse in the Prix Ganay.
As a son of Dubawi out of the great racemare Zarkava, the Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained four-year-old is bred to be a superstar.
His CV is so far lacking the big-race success his pedigree promised, but he chased home the brilliant Almanzor on two occasions last season, including in the French Derby.
Following a successful winter stint in Dubai, he came mighty close to breaking his top-level duck when beaten a short-neck by Cloth Of Stars at Saint-Cloud on Monday and the result may have been different had jockey Christophe Soumillon not dropped his whip.
Georges Rimaud, racing manager for owner-breeder the Aga Khan, said: "He ran a nice race and it was just unlucky that the jockey lost his whip.
"He seems fine and we are looking for the right race for him."
Zarak holds an entry in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on May 28.
