Willie Mullins column: Thurles team

The Thurles card lost at the weekend takes place on Wednesday. Check out our star columnist's guide to his runners.

It's great the card at Thurles, lost at the weekend, has been rearranged for Wednesday. Here are my thoughts on the runners.

Colreevy – 12.15

She’ll love the trip and ground here but had a very hard race at Limerick over Christmas. She might have been fortunate to win that day but she did it the hard way, coming back from a bad mistake. Ground and trip are ideal but I’m taking a chance running her back because it is quite quick. That said it’s a mare’s race, so a good fit, and she appears to have recovered at home. We won’t know for sure until the race though.

Yukon Lil – 12.15

She runs in the sponsors’ (Coolmore) colours and we might change tactics with her too. She got beaten at Navan over this trip and I’m a little worried about the distance but she’s going to take her chance.

Easy Game – 12.45

It’s a drop in class and trip for him. He ran in the Savills at Leopardstown and might want better ground but looks to have a good chance of getting in the money.

Allaho – 12.45

He too ran over three miles at Christmas and disappointed me. He’s by No Risk At All and we’re going to come back in trip with him. I was happy with his work during the week and this distance might just suit him better with a change of tactics too. He goes there in good form and with a good rating.

Annamix – 12.45

We tried him over two miles at Leopardstown and it didn’t seem to work out so we’re going up to two-and-a-half here. It’s more his trip and track, he’ll like going right-handed again, and he’s in good shape for all he might have a few pounds to find on ratings.

Elimay – 12.45

She’s a course-and-distance winner but is a hard horse to place. She’ll have an entry for the mares’ chase at Cheltenham and this is her first run over fences this season.

It will be interesting to see how she operates against these horses and we might go back for the Opera Hat Chase at Naas in a month’s time. It’s a nice programme for her. She’d have her chance and while she has it to find on ratings, she might improve on her mark as she gets more experience over fences.

Fighter Allen – 1.55

He was hugely disappointing on his last start, pulling up at Navan, but you have to put a line through that. This trip will suit him and it might be a decent opportunity for him.

Eurotiep – 2.30

Aubrey McMahon gets on fantastically well this horse. His run in Leopardstown was good and if he takes to jumping, and he schools well at home, then he has a big chance in this.
