Value Bet tipster Ben Linfoot bags 20/1 winner; Sky Bet punter wins just short of £50,000

Ben Linfoot tipped a 20/1 winner at Kempton in his Value Bet column on Saturday while one Sky Bet customer won just shy of £50,000 on the football.

The Racing desk have had plenty of reasons to cheer in recent weeks with the Sporting Life Daily Nap going great guns on the back of David Ord's recent hot streak while Richard Mann's Meydan preview on a Thursday has been a regular source of winners.

However, Ben Linfoot's Value Bet column trumped the lot this weekend with Walt rewarding readers with a 20/1 winner as he ran out a cosy victor of the 3.35 at Kempton on Saturday.

Given the competitive nature of the red-hot handicap chase, Ben opted to fire a two-pronged attack at the contest with his second selection, Double Shuffle, finishing second at 8/1.

Hands up who did the forecast!?

Simon Holt's selections also returned another profitable weekend for his readers thanks to Erick Le Rouge's victory on the same card while not to be outdone, Rugby Union expert Tony Calvin made it two winners from as many selections in Saturday's Six Nations action.

Drinks all round I'd say!

50k football win!

One Sky Bet punter won just shy of £50,000 from a low-staking correct score perm on Saturday - with the added bonus of a £1,500 Super 6 consolation prize.

The customer, a gentleman in his fifties, zoned in on the Super 6 games and correctly predicted 1-1 draws at Bournemouth and Stoke, a 3-2 win for Norwich, a 3-1 win for Preston and Newcastle's 2-0 victory at home to Huddersfield.

Only Leeds proved beyond his fortune-telling powers, the punter having gone with a 4-0 win whereas the promotion contenders had to settle for a hard-fought 2-1 success over Bolton, but five winners still meant for a total return of £48,587.10.

That's because rather than play the six-fold alone, the customer placed a 10p Lucky 63 - doubles, trebles, four-folds, five-folds and the accumulator - plus separate four- and five-folds. In total, just £9.35 was staked on one of the most remarkable bets of the season so far.

  • Bournemouth 1-1 Wolves - WON 5/1
  • Newcastle 2-0 Huddersfield - WON 6/1
  • Leeds 4-0 Bolton - LOST
  • Millwall 1-3 Preston - WON 28/1
  • Norwich 3-2 Bristol City - WON 25/1
  • Stoke 1-1 Aston Villa - WON 5/1

Had Leeds in fact won 4-0, the payout would've topped half a million pounds but any regret was further softened by the fact that the bet stemmed from the Soccer Saturday Super 6, and with no winners the customer was one of those collecting a £1,500 consolation prize to take his returns about the £50k mark.
