Lavender's Blue can resume her upward trajectory as she switches back to Listed company in the British Stallion Studs EBF Upavon Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury.

Amanda Perrett's filly made an impressive racecourse debut at Newmarket in April, winning a maiden event by over two lengths with plenty in hand, prompting connections to have a go at a Classic trial.

Lavender's Blue was dispatched to Newbury and turned in an excellent effort to be beaten just a neck by Queen Power.

That form has been well franked since, with third-placed Star Catcher going on to win at Royal Ascot before securing Irish Oaks glory, while the fourth, Star Terms, was just touched off in a French Group Three over the weekend.

Lavender's Blue took a more ambitious route than the latter, being pitched against the very best in the Oaks at Epsom, but after setting the pace, she faded out of it and came home last of the 14 runners.

There were decent excuses for her effort and she could have more still to give at this level over 10 furlongs.

Sezim finally came good in a lady riders' race last time out, so his confidence should be riding high in the Brunton Publications Pembroke Handicap.

Placed in four of his five previous outings, Sezim made the breakthrough when landing what was a competitive handicap by a neck after making a late dash to the line.

The narrow verdict has somewhat limited the handicapper's reaction and a 3lb could prove no bar to success as Sezim remains relatively unexposed.

It is ladies' day at Beverley and Regal Mirage is worth an interest in the Jill Willows Handicap. Tim Easterby's runner arrives on the back of victory at Pontefract last month, showing a good attitude to register the second win of his career.

A 4lb rise is obviously not ideal, but he still looks competitive enough and has winning form on the Westwood to boot.

Dubious Affair has failed to sparkle in maidens and novice events, but a switch to the handicap sphere should help Sir Michael Stoute's charge.

She finished her race off well enough, although beaten nine lengths in third, on her most recent outing at Chester and a mark of 70 looks a fair starting point for the Pure Broadband Maiden Handicap Fillies' Stakes.

Stormbomber can step up on his two recent seconds in the Celtic Contractors Handicap at Kempton.

Ed Walker's runner has shown glimpses of promise, being beaten a neck at Wolverhampton before going down by just under three lengths over this course and distance.

Franz Kafka has not been seen since winning at Brighton in May, but that should be no barrier to success in the Byrne Group Handicap.

An odds-on favourite over a mile on that occasion, two of the four horses that finished behind him have subsequently won, so the form has a very solid look about it.
