Gallops Report from Sir Michael Stoute's yard

POET'S WORD was the big name amongst a small group of horses that worked first lot for Sir Michael Stoute.

In a mixed gallop the four-year-old went to the Trial ground and covered six and a half furlongs with the South African mare SMART CALL.

As the pace quickened in the final furlong Poet's Word decisively went clear and he looks in peak condition for the Qipco Champion Stakes.

He has thrived since his cracking run in the Irish Champion Stakes and looks like being joined at Ascot by ULYSSES who completed his preparation on Saturday.

The other work involved three two-year-old colts.

Ryan Moore did the steering on REVLION who looks a decent prospect.

He came up with ORBINA and REFRAIN and you could have thrown a blanket over them at the finish.
