Enable and Magical lit up the Breeders' Cup with a memorable battle in the Breeders' Cup Turf, Frankie Dettori was also at his brilliant best on Sir Michael Stoute's Expert Eye in the Mile, while Charlie Appleby's Line Of Duty put himself into the Investec Derby picture with victory in the Juvenile Turf.
It wasn't to be for Roaring Lion and the other European raiders, sadly, in the Classic but John Gosden's grey heads to stud as a true star of 2018 nevertheless.
