Jockeys Oisin Murphy and Cieren Fallon are counting down the days until they clash in the QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
Champion Jockey Murphy will partner the ante-post favourite Dream Of Dreams, while budding star Fallon takes the ride on Darley July Cup winner Oxted, the general second-favourite.
Murphy said of Dream Of Dreams: “He’s off the back off a Group 1 win this time round following the Sprint Cup at Haydock and if he goes there in the same form he starts as favourite and will hopefully take a bit of beating.
"It would be nice to win another Group 1 for Sir Michael Stoute and winning on QIPCO British Champions Day is a fantastic feeling."
Reigning Champion Apprentice Fallon is quietly confident of Roger Teal’s stable star putting up a winning performance in the race.
He said of Oxted: "He’s a very versatile horse and a very easy ride, he breaks very well and you can put him in the race anywhere.
"He’s got gears and it’s going to be a stiff six. I think with his last performance he goes there with every chance."
