Jockey Fergus Gregory has "stable night" following horror fall

Olly Murphy reports Fergus Gregory to have had a "stable" night in hospital following a bad fall at Huntingdon on Tuesday evening.

The conditional jump jockey was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge after the tumble in the Best Odds Guaranteed At 188Bet Handicap Hurdle in which his mount The Blue Bomber, trained by Caroline Fryer, suffered a fatal injury.

Gregory is based with Stratford trainer Murphy, who said "He had a stable night. He's got a small bleed on the brain. They are happy enough with him but were just waiting to do another scan. I think they were just waiting for things to settle down first.

"I'm at the Doncaster Sales, but his girlfriend is there and I've spoken to her this morning. There is no major panic. Obviously, there was to start with. Everyone at Huntingdon was co-operative and they were very good, so it's a lot more positive than it was. He's going the right way. It's positive and he's on the right track."
