Indefatigable is likely to take her chance in the Trull House Stud Mares' Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham after giving Lady Buttons a scare at Doncaster on Saturday.
Indefatigable got within a neck of the hot favourite in the Grade Two Yorkshire Rose Mares' Hurdle with a strong late finish - having chased home another smart mare in Posh Trish in a Listed contest at Taunton on her previous start.
Trainer Paul Webber feels the six-year-old is progressing with experience and deserves a shot at the Festival.
"She's absolutely fine and has come out of the race very well indeed. I'm very happy with her," said the Banbury trainer.
"I think she's improved 10lb with each run, and we'll see what the handicapper does. She's certainly going the right way.
"I think we'll probably go for the mares' novice hurdle at Cheltenham. The one thing that will suit her is the stiff uphill finish.
"She wants a bit further than an easy two miles. Hopefully all will be well, and we'll have a go at Cheltenham in March."
