Enable among star-studded eight entries for Coral-Eclipse

Enable, Ghaiyyath and Deirdre feature among a star-studded entry of eight for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

The former won the race last season and is set to start her 2020 campaign on Sunday with John Gosden also entering his Prince Of Wales's Stakes winner Lord North.

Ghaiyyath booked his place in the field with a runaway win in the Coronation Cup at Newmarket while star Japanese filly Deirdre landed the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood last season.

Aidan O'Brien is set to turn to last year's Juddmonte International hero Japan, who finished behind Lord North at Royal Ascot, and also has Magic Wand in the field.

Bangkok and Regal Reality complete a fascinating line-up.

William Buick is relishing the Sandown ride on Ghaiyyath, saying: “It is obviously a tough race, but he is a horse I’m looking forward to riding again as he was great at Newmarket last time in the Coronation Cup.

“It looks like a real highlight, but that is the Eclipse for you. It has been billed as that before and it is a great race.

“I know it is only a small field, but it is a very select field and there are world champions in there. This could be the race of the season.”
