Nothing stood out beforehand in what was a smart field at best, for all that 1000 Guineas winner True Love took her chance, but she didn't quite have the pace for the extended six furlongs and it was fought out by a pair of colts who had contested the Commonwealth Cup.
Division is yet to win this season, but he's developed into a smart colt, and once again caught the eye in defeat behind one who he'd finished in front of in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
He ran a good race in the July Cup at Newmarket next time, and he may well have won here under different circumstances, coming from further back than the eventual winner but only narrowly denied. Division has the ability to win at the top level this season and the Champions Sprint at Ascot later in the year looks the perfect race for his run style.
