Taareef will step back up to top-level company for the first time in more than year in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained four-year-old is in line to have his first crack at Group One company since finishing down the field in last year's French 2000 Guineas in the mile event on August 13.
After making a winning return to action at Chantilly in June, the son of Kitten's Joy followed that up with an impressive victory in a Group Three at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday when giving weight and a beating to Qipco 2000 Guineas third Al Wukair.
Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, said: "He seems to be very much going the right way.
"He is a more settled horse this year in his mind and he seems to be a lot calmer. I was impressed with him on Sunday and you had to be. I liked the way he went about it.
"The obvious race for him now is the Jacques le Marois. Going back to a mile and a quarter had been in the back of our minds and Jean-Claude Rouget always said it was a possibility. But he has shown plenty of speed for a mile and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
"We will keep going at a mile until somebody says we need to go up in trip."
