Free horse racing betting tips: Preview of UK and Irish meetings on Sunday December 17

Nick Grant is taking a chance on the Richard Guest-trained Tellovoi at Chelmsford on Sunday - he has a tip for every race.

Tellovoi might be worth a play in the Bet totequadpot At betfred.com Handicap at Chelmsford.

His claims are not immediately obvious as the Richard Guest-trained nine-year-old is not getting any younger, nor is his strike-rate anything to write home about.

Tellovoi has not won for a year, but he is handicapped accordingly and was spotted making mildly encouraging late ground a few weeks ago over this course and distance.

The son of Indian Haven ended up finishing sixth, beaten under seven lengths by Captain Pugwash, which was not a bad effort at all as he was pinched for room once the stalls ripped up and was chasing the game from there on in.

Jockey Jack Osborn seems to get on with him pretty well and his 7lb claim will once again come in very handy.

Stepover can add to her Hereford gains by winning at Southwell.

The eight-year-old mare did the job pretty nicely on her most recent outing as she drew two lengths clear of Apache Song in a two-mile mares' handicap hurdle.

Alex Hales' representative is 3lb higher for the William Trueman Mares' Handicap Hurdle but she loves running at Southwell and is in terrific form, having only once finished outside the first two since April.

Tomngerry promises to be no laughing matter for his rivals in the Watch Racing UK Anywhere Chase at Carlisle.

The Brian Ellison-trained seven-year-old lost his unbeaten record when pulled up in Grade One company at the Grand National meeting at Aintree in April 2016, but ran a race full of promise on his return at this track last month.

Rallying and showing a good attitude, he gave winner Desert Cry a fight to the line and is almost certain to be much sharper with that under his belt.

It will be disappointing if there are not more races to be won with him off his current handicap mark.

Nortonthorpelegend looked all over a winner here earlier in the month, only to get mugged close home by Finaghy Air.

He can put the record straight in the Bet At racinguk.com Handicap Chase.

Next Destination can capitalise upon Samcro's absence in the Grade Two Navan Novice Hurdle.

Samcro appears destined for great things, so Willie Mullins must have been quietly satisfied that Gordon Elliott opted not to run him in the Grade Two over two and a half miles.

Fourth in last season's Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, Next Destination arrives at Navan with a most interesting profile after having battered into submission a seriously strong field on his hurdling debut at Naas in November.

He ended up winning by 13 lengths that day and looks open to limitless potential.
