Sun Maiden set for Ribblesdale date at Royal Ascot

Sun Maiden, a wide-margin winner at Salisbury last week, is likely to skip the Investec Oaks in favour of the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
A daughter of Frankel and a half-sister to multiple Group One winner Midday, she bolted up by 12 lengths having been unplaced on her only other previous run at Wolverhampton in December.
Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Sun Maiden was left in the Oaks at the latest forfeit stage but connections have admitted she is unlikely to take up the entry.
"I would think she is more likely at the moment to head for the Ribblesdale, rather than the Oaks," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah. "It's all just happening a bit quick."
