Frankie Dettori in good spirits after Yarmouth fall

Frankie Dettori was reported in "good spirits" after he was stood down following a fall prior to the opening race at Yarmouth.

The popular Italian was due to partner the John Gosden-trained Tivoli in the six-furlong fillies' maiden when he was unshipped in the parade ring.

Tivoli was withdrawn and Dettori, who appeared to be holding a shoulder following the incident, did not take up his only other mount aboard Falak in the following race.

Dettori's agent Ray Cochrane said: "I've spoken to Frankie and he's in good spirits.

"Nothing's broken. His shoulder is a bit sore, but otherwise he's fine."

Dettori has two booked rides at Kempton on Wednesday evening and four at Newbury on Thursday afternoon.

He is also due to be at Ascot on Wednesday morning to put several of American trainer Wesley Ward's Royal Ascot hopefuls through their paces.

Asked whether Dettori would head to Ascot, Cochrane said: "I'll leave that up to him."
