Shanroe Santos set for Sky Bet Chase

Lucy Wadham is hoping enough rain falls to allow Shanroe Santos a shot at the Sky Bet Handicap Chase at Doncaster.

The Newmarket trainer has earmarked the valuable three-mile prize as a potential port of call for the 10-year-old, who found only one too strong last time out at Cheltenham.

Wadham said: "Shanroe Santos is entered in the Sky Bet at Doncaster next weekend. I'd like to go there, but obviously it needs to rain. He ran well at Cheltenham the other day and seems well.

"If he doesn't go to Doncaster, there is a veterans' race at Carlisle that we also have our eye on."

Wadham's Admiral Barratry may bid to follow his winning stable debut at Fakenham in the Matchbrook British EBF "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle on Saturday, after swerving two engagements last weekend.

She said: "I thought the ground was a bit quick at Warwick and Kempton, and he has had leg trouble in the past. Again if we get the rain, he will go to Ascot. I'd like to get him qualified for the Grade Three EBF final at Sandown just before Cheltenham. That's his main target."
