Simon Holt reckons Sir Mark Prescott's Sunset Breeze is worth following at Doncaster on Friday - check out his latest preview and tips.
Newmarket trainer Sir Mark Prescott has spent much of his career trying to stay one or three steps ahead of the official handicapper and running SUNSET BREEZE in Friday's bet365 Handicap will have been hard to resist.
The three-year-old son of Pivotal has steadily climbed the ratings this season, winning off 69 at Newcastle in June before adding further successes at Newmarket and Chelmsford.
Sunset Breeze proved that he is still on the upgrade when going under by a neck to the promising Double Or Bubble (with three lengths back to the third) over Ascot's stiff seven furlongs a week ago and has been given another 5lb rise to a mark of 92.
However, that new rating does not apply here so Luke Morris's mount has a clear chance on a point of handicapping with a slightly less demanding six-and-a-half furlongs likely to suit.
The selection receives weight all round, and is just favoured over Ghalyoon who was beaten narrowly over seven furlongs here last month returning from a year off the track.
That form looks a bit questionable as the race resulted in a bunch finish, though Marcus Tregoning's charge pulled way too hard in the early stages and some of his back form including a defeat of Posted at Salisbury and a second to Nazeef at Newmarket looks smart now. However, he does need to settle better.
In the Bombardier Flying Childers Stakes, the Irish filly FRENETIC could take some pegging back over this fast five-furlong course.
William Buick's mount is a really pacey sort and her second to Miss Amulet at Naas two starts ago was well and truly franked when the winner went on to take the Lowther Stakes at York.
Subsequently, Frenetic returned to winning form when landing the odds at the expense of subsequent winner Chief Little Hawk in a listed race at The Curragh and an earlier defeat by Aloha Star, again at The Curragh, in July was also advertised when the winner finished second (then demoted to third) in the Phoenix Stakes.
Fellow raider Steel Bull looks one of the main dangers and can be forgiven his first defeat at The Curragh last time after damaging two teeth in the stalls while the Lowther runner-up Sacred (now back to five furlongs from six) and promoted Phoenix second The Lir Jet look strongest of the home team.
