Free horse racing selections for Saturday April 27

Anita Chambers sides with Give Me A Copper at Sandown on Saturday - she has a selection for every race in the UK and Ireland.

NAP: Give Me A Copper (3.35 Sandown)

Next Best: Altior (3.00 Sandown)

Paul Nicholls will be crowned champion trainer at Sandown, and Give Me A Copper can add a final flourish to his campaign by lifting the bet365 Gold Cup.

The Ditcheat handler had earmarked this promising nine-year-old as a possible Grand National contender, but a fall at the Cheltenham Festival forced a rethink on that score.

Aintree's loss could be Sandown's gain, though, with Give Me A Copper likely to be particularly well suited if conditions stay on the quicker side.

A £270,000 purchase back in 2016, Give Me A Copper's career has yet to really take off - winning one of his two starts last term before a lengthy lay-off that did not see him return until February this year.

His initial effort was promising enough, but soft ground at this course found him out a bit - while testing going again proved a step too far in the hurly burly of the Ultima at the Festival.

Give Me A Copper was beaten when he fell, and his profile may not appeal to some, but he looks to be on a competitive mark in what is perhaps not a vintage renewal of this race in terms of quality.

Altior will be too short for many in the bet365 Celebration Chase, but is expected to make it a jumps-record 19 successive wins and is impossible to oppose.

It is a shame that quick ground prevented a clash between Altior and Nicholls' top-rated chaser Cyrname in the Grade One, but it at least leaves the way clear for Nicky Henderson's charge to extend his unbeaten run.

Henderson should have a second win on the card via On The Blind Side, who switches back to the smaller obstacles in the bet365 Select Hurdle.

His novice-chase campaign was a bit underwhelming, but he was more than capable over hurdles and can at least sign off with a decent win.

Hey Gaman returns to Listed company for the EBF Stallions King Richard III Stakes at Leicester, a move which can see him get the year off to an ideal start.

James Tate understandably campaigned this colt at the highest level last term after seeing him finish third in the Greenham, and that decision so nearly paid off when he was beaten just a neck in the French 2000 Guineas.

He also was not beaten far in the French Derby, Prix Jean Prat or Prix Daniel Wildenstein before being outclassed in the Champion Stakes on his final start.

Hey Gaman's lack of success means he lines up here with the highest rating and no penalties, which makes it a tough ask for his rivals.

Stablemate New Graduate can make it a double on the day for Tate in the Watch Sky Sports Racing In HD Handicap at Ripon.

Derby entry Great Bear is one to watch at Haydock as he returns to action in the Play 4 To Score At Betway Novice Stakes.

Winner of his only juvenile start at Wolverhampton last November, Great Bear clearly has much to prove if he is to line up at Epsom in June.

However, as a son of Dansili out of Irish Oaks winner Great Heavens, Great Bear certainly has the right kind of pedigree.

Fujaira Prince was an odds-on winner of both of his starts last year and is once again a key player in Doncaster's Switched On Solutions Group Handicap.

He looked an animal full of potential but does not seem to have had the best of luck, given this will be only his fourth outing so far.

Crystal King finally got a win on the board last October and can pick up where he left off in the Weatherbys Stallion Book Handicap at Wolverhampton.
