RACING

Simon Holt

At Newmarket, Chatham House can strike again, after a belated first win last time, in the Unibet Grey Horse Handicap.

Richard Hannon's gelding had become a bit frustrating but travelled easily throughout before comfortably holding off Swift Tempo at Newbury over seven furlongs and his only previous run over six furlongs resulted in one of his best efforts.

With his confidence boosted by the easy Newbury win, he could well become progressive especially as this former free-goer looked much more professional that day when he was held up and got plenty of cover in the early stages.

Oli Bell

Julie Camacho's four-year-old has won two of his three starts since switching back to turf this season and a 3lb rise for his latest success at Redcar looks more than fair. Well worth a bet at each-way prices.

Matt Brooklebank

The Unibet Hungerford Stakes at Newbury represents a fantastic chance for Safe Voyage to return to winning ways on Saturday.

John Quinn’s horse has a profile of steady progression and lost very little in defeat when third in the Group Two Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh last month.

That was his first try at Group Two level but he held his own well and probably found the ground on the quick side, given all his previous form has come with the mud flying.

Conditions could be absolutely ideal for him this weekend and with Curragh winner Romanised going in again in a French Group One last weekend, the form is obviously strong.

The more rain the better for John Quinn’s horse, who has only really begun to fulfil his potential aged six having fractured his pelvis as a youngster and taken a while to reach maturity as a result.

Imperial Gloriana enters handicap company for the first time when she contests theUnibet Fillies' Nursery Handicap at Newmarket (15.20) and an opening mark of 77 looks very workable. David O’Meara’s Kingman filly has shaped with an abundance of promise in her three racecourse appearances to date, chasing home a smart colt on her penultimate start at Doncaster before stepping up to this 7f trip and finishing third at Thirsk last time. With the second and fourth from that contest coming out and winning since, the form certainly has a strong look to it and Imperial Gloriana is backed to maintain her progressive profile to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

FOOTBALL

George Pitts - Premier League

Villa scored first against Tottenham in their opening Premier League match and they were leading at half-time in 48% of their home Sky Bet Championship games last term. Whereas the Cherries, who faced another newly-promoted side in Sheff United on the opening day, were trailing at the interval in 11 of 19 away Premier League games last term.

These two club's Premier League meetings last season saw Pep Guardiola's side come out on top with 1-0 victories on both occasions. With Tanguy Ndombele now in the Spurs midfield, they will hope to keep it close again and enjoy more control in the game. That makes the near even-money price on the visitors with a +2 handicap all the more appealing. If it's a draw or a home win by a one-goal margin, then this bet still pays off.

Tom Carnduff - EFL

Warburton grabbed his first goal in the Carabao Cup in midweek and at home, against a managerless side with problems off the field, Warburton and Northampton should enjoy the afternoon.

I put the attacking midfielder up as top goalscorer in the division and I'd back him to get his league tally underway in front of a home audience this weekend.
