Queen Anne Stakes

Sir Michael Stoute’s Mustashry heads 20 six-day entries for the Group One Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday, June 16, day one of Royal Ascot.

The seven-year-old won last year’s Lockinge Stakes and finished his campaign with a win from Limato on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile.

He could only finish seventh in last year’s Queen Anne, though, and one of the horses that beat him that day, William Haggas’ One Master who was third, is back in a bid to go two places better.

Haggas also has Skardu in there.

Accidental Agent, winner of the Queen Anne two years ago, is also among the 20 entries.

John Gosden has two potential runners in Lord North and recent Newmarket winner Terebellum, while Adian O’Brien could also be double-handed with Circus Maximus and Lancaster House.

Kingman colts Headman and Roseman are possibles for Roger Charlton and Roger Varian respectively, while Billesdon Brook is the sole entry for Richard Hannon in the absence of QEII winner King Of Change.

Varian also has Turjomaan as a possible.

Last year’s winning trainer David O’Meara is represented by Escobar, with fellow northern handlers Richard Fahey and Mark Johnston set to run Space Traveller and Marie’s Diamond respectively.

Andrew Balding’s Fox Chairman, Marcus Tregoning’s Mohaather and David Simcock’s Bless Him complete the British entries, with French raider Plumatic completing the potential runners.

King's Stand Stakes

Battaash will face a maximum of 12 rivals in the King’s Stand Stakes.

Hamdan Al Maktoum’s brilliant sprinter has chased home Blue Point in the last two renewals of the Group One contest and will be a warm order to make it third time lucky.

Denis Hogan’s rising star Sceptical spearheads a strong challenge from Ireland which includes Aidan O’Brien’s Sergei Profokiev and Southern Hills. Prix de l’Abbaye winner Glass Slippers is set to represent Kevin Ryan while John Quinn has entered Haydock winner Liberty Beach.

Equilateral, a stablemate of Battassh is set to run as is Kurious, winner of his last two races for Henry Candy.

Ribblesdale Stakes

John Gosden is potentially triple-handed in the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes as he bids to follow up last year's win with Star Catcher.

That filly's owner, Anthony Oppenheimer, could run Frankly Darling this time around, while Miss Yoda and Anastarsia are also in there from the Clarehaven stable.

Aidan O'Brien has won the race three times in the last six years and he's also got three entries in Elfin Queen, Ennistymon and Passion in there from Ballydoyle.

Peter Chapple-Hyam's Bharani Star, William Haggas' Born With Pride, Harry Dunlop's Golden Lips and Andrew Balding's Hold Fast are all entered, too.

There are 14 entries in total with David Simcock's Oriental Mystique, Richard Hughes' So I Told You, Ralph Beckett's Trefoil and Mark Johnston's West End Girl completing the six-day declarations.
