3.05 Persian Force

That man O’Brien spearheads what could be a dominant assault on Ascot’s juvenile races with Blackbeard, who extended his unbeaten record to three in a strong renewal of the Marble Hill on his first try at six furlongs. That three-and-a-half-length rout of Tough Talk sets the standard in a race the Ballydoyle bandwagon have carted off three times in the last nine years.

Brocklesby winner PERSIAN FORCE readily saw off a previous winner in Holguin (reopposes here) upped to this trip at Newbury last time. Trainer Richard Hannon hasn’t been shy in likening him to the yard’s devastating 2009 winner Canford Cliffs and this Mehmas colt promises to be seen to even better effect coming off the likely strong pace.
