Frankie Dettori was back among the winners at Royal Ascot on Friday, while Hayley Turner made history in the Sandringham.

1658: Martyn Meade has been reacting to Advertise's win, his first Royal Ascot winner as a trainer.
The Manton Estate-based handler said: "He was pretty special over six furlongs last year, but the problem was I had trained him to run the mile and getting him switched off we thought how do we jazz him up again so maybe put the blinds on, just so he knows he has to sprint.
"Luckily, it did the job as he jumped and went. Clearly that demonstrates that this is his distance, if we can step him up a bit then clearly we will.
"It has been a difficult year, the horses were running very flat to start with, a good example was Advertise in the Guineas - it was so disappointing as we went here with high hopes. We were always a little bit worried whether he would get the mile or not, but certainly we thought he would run better. Then you've got to pull up stumps, but it is really difficult with a yard full of horses.
"It shows we are back! From our point of view we had a couple of really good runners, then you have confidence going again, inevitably you have a few who don't run to expectations, the main thing you have to target these things go for it and hope everything works out on the day.
"Coming into today we had absolutely nil confidence, you never know despite how well they are working at home!
1654: Plenty of support now for Magnetic Charm for Her Majesty the Queen. She beat Twist 'N' Shake at York last time and that rival just produced a fine fourth in the Coronation.

1638: The French flags have been waving at Ascot and Watch Me was providing trainer Francis-Henri Graffard with his second Group One victory in the space of a week, having landed last weekend's Prix de Diane at Chantilly with Channel.

1625: Boil-over! France strikes gold in the Coronation Stakes and not with the number one hope Castle Lady, but the horse who finished behind her in sixth at Longchamp last month.

1615: Late money for Twist 'N' Shake (Dettori) and O'Brien second string Happen, who will bid to give Donnacha O'Brien a first Royal Ascot winner.
The inexperienced Jubiloso has been uneasy throughout the day but she's back in to 5/1 on the track.
1610: Hermosa is a dual Guineas winner but she's not the only Classic heroine in the field with Castle Lady flying the flag for France.
She's a classy, unbeaten filly who remains open to considerable improvement.

1555: More reaction to the opening race with Newmarket trainer Roger Varian reflecting on Daayeh's performance.
He said: "Daayeh won nicely today. She has always worked like a horse who could be quite nice. It was lovely to see her do it like that. Today was the first time she was in a scrap, but at the line, she looked a good winner.
"She is promising looking ahead to the future and it looks like she'll stay seven furlongs on the back of that - she got the trip really well.
"David is making good strides, has a good on his shoulders and is one of the best young riders around. He is not the finished article yet, but he has not done much wrong today. The owners have been loyal to David as he rode the horse first time out.
"David will get his chances throughout the year and he took it today."
1550: The big questions over Ten Sovereigns have seemingly been answered and you're almost left wondering if we'll see him again.
Meanwhile, Advertise has been slashed to 6/1 from 20s with Sky Bet for the July Cup at Newmarket.

1548: Welcome back to the party, Frankie Dettori.
Advertise was a drifter in the betting late on, with question marks over the Martyn Meade yard (no winner since April) and his flop in the 2000 Guineas, but first time blinkers and the drop back to six furlongs have perked him right up and he's run out a ready winner.

"He's coming forward lovely, and we couldn't be happier. He's been progressing all the time."
1522: Hard to imagine O'Brien will be retiring at 70, and Ten Sovereigns and Hermosa will now attempt to complete a quick treble in the next two races.

1510: A searching gallop set by Donnacha O'Brien on Jack Yeats sets things up beautifully for hot favourite Japan and Ryan Moore makes no mistake on the Derby third.
The son of Galileo was the big talking horse going into the winter for Ballydoyle but a setback in the spring meant they had to wait for the Dante and then he ran a huge race in the Derby despite his jockey dropping the whip.
Bangkok - a horse Andrew Balding was quite sweet on heading to Epsom - gets back to his best but he wasn't in the same league as Japan who looks a colt destined for some of the top races over middle distances this season.
Sky Bet cut the winner to 5/2 from 5/1 for the St Leger.

1450: Egan is an impressive young character and only just turned 20 a couple of days ago.
We spoke to him as Epsom earlier in the year prior to the Derby meeting and he seemed to have a mature head on his shoulders. Roger Varian has enjoyed a fantastic season to this point and while it's far from make or break for a trainer like him, a Royal Ascot winner is clearly a nice way to cap a hard year's graft.
1445: Wes Ward's wait for a six furlong Royal Ascot juvenile winner goes on as his two weaken out of it after forcing the pace in their respective groups on the stands and far side.
Precious Moments chased the pace in the smaller group and stuck on well enough in fifth but Frankie Dettori and Last Surprise never looked like figuring.
1438: Daahyeh wins the Albany and it's a strong start for the punters. The writing was on the wall with this horse after Raffle Prize - the one she beat at Newmarket last month - won the Queen Mary earlier in the week and she's not disappointed.
It's a big moment for David Egan who enjoys his first Royal Ascot winner and the young lad is in tears on his way back to the winner's enclosure.

1429: The strongest one in the betting late on is Kevin Ryan's once-raced Galadriel. 1415: It's a fascinating day and in fairness to Royal Ascot there's no real lull in proceedings, with Saturday also looking a nice card with the Diamond Jubilee Stakes ably supported by a strong-looking Hardwicke containing the Derby winner from last summer, Masar.
The Commonwealth Cup gives Friday's meeting a significant boost and thankfully the weather is now set fair for the final dozen races. It'll be tacky ground, which officially remains good, good to soft in places on the round course, but there shouldn't be too many excuses on account of the going.
Interesting to read that Charlie Appleby is stating today that Masar would have been a non-runner had he been declared for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes on Wednesday.

1350: Mike Cattermole has finished his morning slot on Sky Sports Racing and steps up with his tips for today's racing. I can't tell you how he reacted to each-way tip Magic Circle's performance in yesterday's Gold Cup, but it's safe to say that the Catt is looking onwards and upwards with two days to go of this magical meeting.
1345: It's not just our own David Ord who fancies Humanitarian to run a big race today - but gallops watcher Catching Pigeons has some positive words on the John Gosden runner.
He looks a nice St Leger prospect to me, but that doesn't preclude him winning the King Ed... despite the fact I can't see a Leger winner in the roll of honour for this race. Aside from that, it doesn't preclude him winning the King Ed.
"By mud loving sire Noble Mission, he ran a respectable race in the Investec Derby at Epsom, finishing seventh to Anthony Van Dyck and just behind Tuesday's St James's Palace winner Circus Maximus. At the back of the field for most of the race, he stayed on to good effect and should be more at home on this less exacting course."
1338: Royal procession coming up on Sky Sports Racing. One can barely contain oneself.
1322: Talking of underestimated stable stars, how about this James Fanshawe-trained Pondus in the King Edward VII today. Fanshawe is said to have been considering the Derby itself with the son of Sea The Moon but a trip to Sandown - where he won by five lengths - before this race was preferred as a route to stardom and he's already proven on ground with ease in it after his win at Nottingham previously.
He's untried at a mile and a half but he's a half-brother to middle distance winners and he's clearly expected to relish it going by how strong he is in the betting.
Click here to log in and watch a FREE replay of Pondus storming home by five lengths at Sandown.
1300: This probably went a little under the radar given the Frankie factor yesterday. A one-two-three for Aidan O'Brien in a Royal Ascot handicap. Just stunning.
His army of well-bred three-year-olds would be absolute stable stars if they were houses elsewhere and it's just another example of not underestimating his supposed second and third strings.

Richard Fahey has had a fine old time with his two-year-olds this season and this daughter of Kodiac was pitched into the deep end first time out at Beverley. She was blocked in the run and finished quite well and while the Albany is a big step up in class for her today, she's potentially a shade over-priced at 33/1.

1225: It's been a fantastic week for followers of our flagship racing tipster - Ben Linfoot - and even on a day dominated by Frankie Dettori he managed to snare a 10/1 winner in yesterday's Value Bet column.
Today looks tricky for value seekers but Linfoot is rolling the big dice with Koncheck at a massive price in the Commonwealth Cup and another biggie in the King Edward VII.
1215: This is a nice little piece courtesy of our friends at QIPCO British Champions Series.

We've picked out 5 to keep an eye on! pic.twitter.com/XugaFsuCA9
1210: Who emerges on top in this currently one-sided race to be top jockey for the week?
Dettori has been leading rider at Royal Ascot five times, but has not captured the QIPCO-backed award since 2004. His first title was won in 1997 with four winners, while his best Royal Ascot came in 1998 with seven successes.
The most winners ridden at the Royal meeting is a record that was set in 1878 by the 13-time champion jockey Fred Archer - he won 12 races from 24 rides, including riding an amazing five winners on the Wednesday*. He beat Nat Flatman's 1847 previous record of 11. The Royal meeting was a four-day meeting until 2002.
The modern-day record is held by Moore, who won nine races in 2015. The previous best was eight, a total achieved by Piggott in 1965 and 1975, and Pat Eddery in 1989.
Current Sky Bet odds...
Frankie Dettori - 4/7
Ryan Moore - 5/4

1200: If you like racing, and you like TV, feast your eyes on this.
1145: There are nibbles of support for 'blog fancy' Precious Moments, who is 14/1 at best, but the one for money is... it's Frankie's mount Last Surprise, of course.
Elsewhere, Sky Bet have seen money for Advertise (Frankie) in the Commonwealth Cup and Hotsy Totsy (not Frankie) in the Sandringham.
2.30 β Last Surprise 6/1 from 10/1
3.05 β Pondus 4/1 from 11/2
3.40 β Advertise 6/1 from 15/2
4.20 β Hermosa 5/6 from 11/10
5.00 β Hotsy Totsy 6/1 from 8/1 & Coral Beach 10/1 from 14/1
5.30 β Fujaira Prince 11/2 from 13/2
It's money back as cash again in the first race with Sky Bet - if your selection finishes second or third. Click on the image below to take advantage of the offer.
1130: Fran Berry is among our many experts to have given their views on today's racing and he's got no real concerns over Ten Sovereigns, or Hermosa.. or Japan for that matter.
It's not hard to see the momentum building over these three and there's an outside chance (14/1-ish) that Ryan Moore can kick things off in the manner of Dettori yesterday by winning today's opener - the Albany Stakes - on Precious Moments.
She was third first time out in a race that O'Brien targets with a good one every year (Just Wonderful last year) and although the runner-up Tango didn't win the Queen Mary on Tuesday, she ran a promising race from what turned out to be a moderate-to-poor draw.
In short, Precious Moments has a good chance.
1110: Welcome aboard the good ship blog to former columnist and general good-guy Graham Cunningham, who makes an interesting point regarding Comm Cup hot-pot Ten Sovereigns.
Was it just his stamina running dry in the Guineas, or was that weak finish and high head carriage something a little more sinister?
Aidan O'Brien's previous winner in this race Caravaggio wasn't tried over a mile - he won over six on his seasonal return at Naas before coming straight here. But they were drawn into the Guineas with Ten Sovs and ended up winning it with Magna Grecia.
He travelled strongly and he may not have been ideally positioned on the Rowley Mile, but he definitely hung to his right when asked for an effort up the hill.
It's a slight concern, but any concern at all has to come under the spotlight when we're dealing with a 5/4 shot in a G1 on this stage.
Ten Sovs. Worth his weight in gold or fake ace? Surprised there hasn't been more made of his head carriage and the way he hung right in the Guineas. #tensovs

Ladies and gentlemen, Simon Holt. What a fine operator behind a microphone.
And the great man has kindly taken the time to highlight his two fancies for today's racing, which can be found by clicking on the article below.
0945: Thursday belonged to Frankie Dettori, the ultimate Ascot showman, who revelled in a fabulous four-timer including the Gold Cup itself.
But the great game waits for no man and we move on swiftly to a fine Friday card featuring the Coronation Stakes and Commonwealth Cup.
Dettori has five rides today - presumably due to John Gosden's horses having light weights in the Sandringham - and he'll need to raise his game again if he's to get close to the four winners of yesterday.
Ryan Moore has some ground to make up on Dettori in the standings this week (trails 3-6) and he'll be very hopeful with the likes of Ten Sovereigns, Japan and Hermosa all short prices in their respective races.
Sky Bet have enhanced the odds on that particular treble to 10/1 (from 8s).
