Richard Fahey column on his Saturday team

Our star columnist had a big winner with Forest Ranger at Chester on Friday and he warns punters 'not to draw a line through' an outsider of his in the Victoria Cup on Saturday.

Saturday team:

Bold Show (1.45 Nottingham)

He’s first-time-out here and is a big raw horse but one who does show a bit at home. I’m pleased with him and he will win races but whether it’s first time we’ll have to see.

Gallipoli (4.00 Ascot)

We’re being a bit tough on him and he’s had a bit of racing but he came out of the race at Newcastle very well so we’re taking a chance. He’s a horse who finishes second a lot and I think he saves a bit for himself but on a real going day it wouldn’t be a shock of he ran a big race.

Zap (4.00 Ascot)

I always felt he should have won the International over course-and-distance last season. Any rain would be in his favour and while he was a little disappointing at Newmarket on his reappearance, don't draw a line through him.

Dark Devil (4.40 Nottingham)

He’s proving a bit disappointing but trip, ground and track are right here. Everything’s in his favour but he needs to bounce back.

The Right Choice (5.10 Ascot)

He’ll need a lifetime best to win this but is in great heart at home and he race should suit him. I hope he goes well but it's tough.

Lightning Attack (5.15 Nottingham)

Ran well at Musselburgh on his first start but was very disappointing on his only subsequent start at Beverley and needs to be back firing again. He’ll go close if he is.

Menin Gate (6.45 Thirsk)

He’s a big horse who grew an awful lot between two and three and we’re probably heading down the handicap route with him after this.

Fairy Stories (7.15 Thirsk)

I trained the mother, Fairy Shoes, who was pretty smart and this filly has got herself rated only 54 as she hasn’t been showing much. She’s working well at home though and if everything comes together she could run okay.

Danehill Desert (8.45 Thirsk)

A likeable rogue who has got himself well handicapped. He won’t mind the recent rain and if everything fell right he could run well but he is getting very hard to predict.
