Richard Fahey: Chester May Meeting day two

Richard Fahey goes through his team for the second day of the Chester May Meeting, including Gabriel The One.

Chester May Meeting - Thursday Runners

Fool For You (1.50)

There are very few negatives for her in this. She’s got a great draw, she’s very quick, she’s in great form and she’s fit. She likes the track, too, so we’re hoping for a big run.

Growl (1.50)

He ran okay last time, he just didn’t stay at Haydock and now he has to prove he’s quick enough for five furlongs. He’s well handicapped and would love a bit of rain.

Pacino (3.00)

I was pleased with his win at Beverley the other day, he kept on well and gets this trip well. He’ll need a bit of luck up 5lb but I’m happy with him.

King Of Tonga (3.00)

He’s been shunted up 6lb for finishing second at Beverley which is really frustrating. I’d fancy him off 6lb less but I’m happy with him, he’s in great form and he likes Chester.

The New Marwan (4.05)

He’s a very nice horse. He goes well at home and he’s a typical Dark Angel, very laid back. Hopefully that’ll help him defy greenness and run well from a good draw.

G For Gabrial (4.05)

Stall 13 is the coffin box I’m afraid, but he shouldn’t be beating the other horse on what we see at home. I’d be surprised, anyway.

Gabrial The One (4.35)

He’s never run a bad race and I was pleased with his comeback at Beverley last time. He was a bit keen there but he finished well and that gives hope this trip is what he wants. He’s got a chance of staying on pedigree and he’s getting stronger all the time.

Crownthorpe (5.05)

I’m being a bit tough on him running him three days after his Beverley win, but he’s going up more than his 5lb penalty so my hand is forced a little bit. He has to prove he stays but he’s in really good form and he’s got a nice draw in three.
