Redicean misses Aintree on day one of Grand National meeting

Redicean will miss the Door Bar Anniversary 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle at Aintree on Thursday after failing to sparkle in a workout on Tuesday.

Trainer Alan King believes the Adonis winner has not fully recovered from his run in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham last month when he lost his unbeaten record over timber with a sixth place behind Farclas.

The Barbury Castle handler will give Redicean more time before making any plans for the dual-purpose gelding.

"He didn't work very well this morning so I've decided he can't go there," said King.

"I would think Cheltenham has left its mark. He's not working the way he did before then.

"We're just going to give him a bit longer. We don't want to go Aintree as we're not happy with him."
