Brick By Brick claims Blenheim honours at Fairyhouse and Beautiful Morning wins at Yarmouth

Gold Cup-winning trainer Jessica Harrington completed a rare cross-the-card double on Wednesday with victories in the feature races at Yarmouth and Fairyhouse.

Harrington enjoyed a remarkable time of things with her top-class chasers Sizing John and Our Duke during the last National Hunt season and her success has continued onto the Flat scene this summer, including Listed wins for the likes of Brother Bear, Alpha Centauri and Drumfad Bay.

Brick By Brick (5/1) became the latest to score at that level as the gelded son of Big Bad Bob took the Ballyhane Blenheum Stakes at Fairyhouse under Shane Foley, while Harrington's double was completed by the heavily-backed Beautiful Morning in Yarmouth's Listed EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies' Stakes.

She was sent off the 9/4 favourite and stormed to a two and a half length victory in the hands of Colm O'Donoghue, who was completing his own double on the day after riding Godolphin's Imperial Past to victory in division one of the seven furlong maiden on the card.

Harrington said of Brick By Brick: "He ran in a nursery last time and we thought he had a lot of weight so we held on to him. I don't think he liked that.

"Today he just let him flow and he loved it. He was always going easy and got the trip really well. I'm delighted with him. I was a bit worried about the ground and we nearly withdrew him."

Of Beautiful Morning, the trainer said: "I was absolutely delighted with her. I sent her over there to get black type because she'd been second in the Group Two last time.

"She did it very easily. It's very important as she's got big black type now. She's been second in a Group Two and been placed in a Listed races as a three-year-old last year.

"She's really come into herself this autumn and she stays in training next year. I don't know where she goes next but she may go abroad."
