BALLYMACKIE - 12:37 Leicester (NAP)

The market is likely to guide but it would be no surprise to see BALLYMACKIE leave his Rules form behind on debut for Olly Murphy. A dual point winner in Ireland, Ballymackie changed hands for £160,000 and although that form between the flags hasn't worked out to match that price tag it does suggest he could be reasonably handicapped off 100. His previous stable struggled over the last two seasons - going much better now - during Ballymackie's time with them and he can prove a different proposition for his in-form trainer.

LAKE COMO - 14:10 Southwell

The well-bred LAKE COMO was quickly moved on by Ballydoyle but hasn't taken long to make his mark for George Boughey; improving from his debut when unlucky in the run at Lingfield (third a winner since) before making no mistake at Newcastle. Life will be tougher now handicapping but this promising son of St Mark's Basilica can prove up to to the task.

TIMELESS TREATY - 15:05 Leopardstown

TIMELESS TREATY will by no means be the only runner in the field likely to prove himself well handicapped in time but he looks ready to take a big step forwards in this Pertemps qualifier. He accounted for the, then, 100 rated ex-Flat Fairbanks on his hurdling debut before beating Sticktotheplan - now with Olly Murphy and rated 140 - who reversed the form at Galway. The cards haven't fallen for him in two handicaps since but Timeless Treaty caught the eye last time when making ground from off the pace and should relish this stiffer test.

SOLDIEROFTHESTORM - 15:13 Catterick

SOLDIEROFTHESTORM hasn't always lived up to market expectations and has been off the course since April but he returns to action with his yard going well and is taken to put a disappointing campaign behind him. His record fresh is encouraging and he ran out a ready winner the last time he contested a 0-110; he comes with risks but it would be no surprise to see him bounce back with his stable's runners at the track (one of three on the card) always worth a second look.

Monday selections

NEWTON TORNADO - 15:35 Newbury (NAP)

NEWTON TORNADO appeals as the type of horse that Rebecca Curtis excels with and can continue his progression. Always held in high regard by his handler and he was backed into 4/1 from double figures ahead of his chase debut at Cheltenham only to fall four out. Newton Tornado made amends in no uncertain style at Bangor, earning an 8lb rise in the handicap, and while that form has yet to be seriously tested and he's up in grade, this promising individual - who was just biding his time over hurdles - is expected to prove up to the task.

J J MOON - 14:45 Doncaster

Sky Walking gave Rockola Vogue's form a timely boost when winning at Kempton on Saturday and the mare is clearly improving fast and a 6lb rise - less her rider's claim - may not be enough to anchor her. However, she's primarily contested races against her own sex and could find this tougher and is taken on with J J MOON. The six-year-old was beaten on his first attempt over this trip at Newbury and has been bumped up another couple of pounds but the quicker ground should be in his favour and the form is solid as is his Newton Abbot victory.

BARATABLET - 15:15 Kelso

BARATABLET's only defeat in his last four starts came in a useful handicap at the Scottish Grand National meeting but he was sent off favourite to beat runners from the Nicholls, Mullins and Henderson stables. The handicapper hasn't overreacted as he's only 10lbs higher having won twice since and this promising youngster can continue his progression back up in trip.

MAPLEDURHAM - 18:15 Newcastle

MAPLEDURHAM paid the price for a promising juvenile season which saw her rated 75 for her final start. Off the track for almost a year, she struggled at three but gradually slipped down the weights and came within a head of a maiden success off 60 in September and continued to show the odd glimmer. She starts out for Ed Walker off 56 and has done enough to think that she can take advantage on only her fourth all-weather start.
