Matt Brocklebank has the Monday best bets from around the tracks with the Nap selection running at Wincanton.
Third to the highly promising Captain Teague in a point-to-point last year, WESTERN GENERAL looks made to jump fences and he could be a nice prospect in that discipline next season, but he can surely win over hurdles before the current campaign is through.
Joe Tizzard's five-year-old ran with credit in a novice/maiden company around the turn of the year and, following a 71-day break, just seemed to bump into one when second - beaten a length - on handicap debut at Taunton earlier this month.
The front two came well clear and with winner Killaloan readily going in again since off 7lb higher at Ludlow, Western General's 6lb hike consequently looks more than fair. Conditions underfoot should suit and this event looks winnable with market rivals Rewired and Sambezi a bit more exposed.
EIGHT MILE - 2.45 Lingfield
Surely a great chance for EIGHT MILE to register a first career success.
He cut no ice in novice and maiden races, on turf and all-weather, last summer but improved for the switch to handicaps with better efforts at Kempton and Newcastle in September, while he picked up where he left off with a runner-up effort at Southwell last month
That run at Southwell two starts ago would give him outstanding claims in this moderate company and we can excuse his latest effort as he looked to be unsuited by a drop back to six furlongs at Wolverhampton.
Back up to seven here and clearly well drawn in stall two, Benoit De La Sayette - who was on board for the best effort when just missing out last year - can guide the son of Dandy Man to an overdue first win.
COCO JAMBOO - 7.00 Wolverhampton
The It's Time To Turn To Talksport Fillies' Handicap can go to COCO JAMBOO.
She won a seven-furlong fillies' nursery, despite pulling quite hard early on, to break her duck at Newmarket back in September and she still looked capable of further progression from the revised mark (5lb higher) when second behind He's A Monster on her seasonal return over this course and distance earlier in the month.
The winner was clearly taking advantage of a seriously workable handicap rating that day and Coco Jamboo gets another shot off the same mark now so any physical improvement for the comeback effort might well see her go one better.
