Nap Of The Day

Horse Racing Tips: Nap of the Day

David Ord and Matt Brocklebank have the best bets for Saturday - the Nap in action at Newmarket.

Saturday selections

TARRABB – 5.03 Newmarket (NAP)

She’s enjoyed a good season and from the same mark as when third to Crystal Caprice in deeper waters than these last time, TARRABB can resume winning ways.

She was on a hat-trick going into the Ascot contest and lost little in defeat there. William Buick takes the ride and this likeable filly should be hard to beat. (David Ord)

HIGHWAY ONE O TWO - 3.45 Fontwell

Chris Gordon had a good time of things in September despite not sending out many runners and his HIGHWAY ONE O TWO is worth a bet in the South Coast Skips Waste Management Solutions Handicap Hurdle at Fontwell.

He pulled up in a hot race at Aintree when last seen in April but is better judged on his excellent second to Cobblers Dream in the Lanzarote at Kempton and he resumes off the same mark here. (Matt Brocklebank)

SOFT WHISPER – 4.10 Ascot

She bled when disappointing at Goodwood in July but back from a break SOFT WHISPER looks a bet for the in-form Saeed bin Suroor team.

The daughter of Dubawi had previously won a handicap here from a mark of 102 and followed up in a Listed contest at Chelmsford. Clearly Primo Bacio is a danger but she’s on a long losing streak now and may struggle to past the selection. (DO)

MY LITTLE QUEENS – 4.32 Redcar

She ran well in a better race than this at Ayr last time and MY LITTLE QUEENS makes plenty of appeal despite top weight.

Richard Fahey’s charge races from an unchanged mark and was beaten by only a couple of progressive three-year-olds in a Class 4 0-80 at the Western Meeting. This is a 0-70 Class 5 and the strong pace will suit her too. (DO)

CHURCHILL BAY - 7.00 Wolverhampton

It's taking a while now but CHURCHILL BAY can finally break through at the 12th time of asking in Wolverhampton's Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap.

He's still not got too many miles on the clock for a four-year-old and his form when second at Newmarket in July and fourth at this venue the following month would be good enough to give him a real chance.

He's not featured twice since then but found soft ground dead against him at Chepstow, before getting no run whatsoever at Pontefract last time so looks worth another roll of the dice having been dropped a couple more pounds in the weights. (MB)
