KRAK - 15:30 Hereford (NAP)
KRAK has yet to register a victory since moving from Ireland, having had half a dozen starts for Nigel & Willy Twiston-Davies plus four over fences for the Skeltons. However, he's now rated 10lb lower than when running in last year's Persian War at Chepstow and recent jumping issues while chasing mean he's back over hurdles looking for a much-needed confidence boost. This race appears to represent an ideal opening and the six-year-old is backed to defy the burden of top weight in the hands of Charlie Todd.
LADY KARA - 14:35 Southwell
Not a strong pace forecast here and, with a few of them also set to need the run to put them straight physically, it could be worth banking on the race-fitness of LADY KARA. She's highly likely to get a soft lead in this company as the only confirmed front-runner and, while 0-5 over fences to date, she's been creeping closer to that first victory in this sphere with a couple of recent seconds at Sedgefield. A better round of jumping here could make Richard Newland's three-time hurdle scorer quite tricky to peg back.
CYPRIOT DIASPORA - 16:14 Leicester
As is often the case, there's a bit of juice in the ground at Leicester and that will suit Rod Millman's mare CYPRIOT DIASPORA, who looks worth a try over a mile for the first time in her career. She won over the extended seven furlongs at Ffos Las towards the end of August and has held her form well in defeat since then. A mark of 68 certainly isn't beyond her based on the pick of her efforts from last season and the year before, while stall one is the ideal slot around here, particularly for one who likes to race close to the pace.
SCARLET MOON - 19:00 Wolverhampton
SCARLET MOON hated every minute of it on soft ground at Goodwood last time out but he's been given a decent break since then and looks just the sort to bounce back to form returned to the all-weather. His form on a synthetic surface reads 111 and he only missed out by a head from this mark (80) on the turf at Lingfield a couple of starts ago so isn't handicapped out of things by any means. Oisin Murphy comes in for the ride for the first time, while trainer Archie Watson hasn't been havcing many runners of late but has saddled a winner and a second from three starters since the beginning of the month.
