Ben Linfoot has the best bets for Thursday with the Nap selection running at Yarmouth.
JIMMY SPEAKING – 3.20 Yarmouth (NAP)
Rain is expected at Yarmouth overnight and with that in mind JIMMY SPEAKING could be the one to be on in the Breast Cancer UK Nursery Handicap on Thursday.
The son of Territories has had three runs in maiden company at this track on nothing worse than good to soft and on pedigree he should enjoy getting his toe in.
He has run okay here during his education, but handicaps look the game for him and trainer Chris Dwyer is 5 from 21 in Yarmouth nurseries at this time of year (September and October).
INDIVIDUALISM – 1.20 Ayr
Charlie Johnston’s INDIVIDUALISM can get off the mark in the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Ayr on day one of the Western Meeting.
The half-brother to Subjectivist and Sir Ron Priestley made a good start to his career at Ayr and looked a winner-in-waiting next time out, only for him to flop at odds-on at Leicester on fast ground.
He had previously been denied a run at Goodwood on the abandoned Stewards’ Cup card, but he can get back on track following six weeks off in this winnable event.
MEXICALI ROSE – 5.30 Pontefract
MEXICALI ROSE can prove herself well treated on her return to handicap company in the Matty Bown Handicap over a mile at Pontefract.
Ralph Beckett’s three-year-old was sent off 5/4 for a Nottingham handicap in May but was beaten into second by Maggie’s Way, now rated 91 but running off 76 at the time.
Mexicali Rose is still rated 78 after running in two novice events since, including an easy success at Chepstow last time, and she now looks ready to return to the handicap fray at a track where her trainer has a 25% win strike-rate.
MISTY GREY – 7.00 Chelmsford
Tom Dascombe’s MISTY GREY looks of interest on his return to the all-weather in a highly-competitive Chelmsford City Racecourse Membership Now Available Handicap.
The six-year-old has been running okay in group races and his handicap mark has come down a little, giving him a chance here off 104.
Indeed, the last time he ran on the all-weather was his sole start at Chelmsford in July last year, when he won a six-furlong handicap off a 2lb higher mark.
