We’re left with slim pickings on Sunday due to the cold snap but Southwell keeps the racing show on the road and Joey Ramsden’s BISHOP’S GLORY could be the answer in the Make The Move To Midnite Handicap over five furlongs. It’s a distance this horse has run over just once in 24 starts and that was on debut at this track, but he’s well handicapped on his old form and grinding away over five furlongs on this track might just suit him. He ran well at this course in a classified stakes this time last year and with the forecast pace a strong one he could go well again while his win at Newcastle three starts ago is a rare piece of recent winning form in this field.

CHILLICONCARNEIGH ran his best race since joining David Evans from Ralph Beckett here last time. Even better was expected as he was sent off favourite but it would be no surprise were Evans to eke further improvement out of this son of Coulsty who is from a family that the trainer knows well. Evans trains half-sister Gaiety Musical, a four-time all-weather winner over similar trips and rated in the 70s. Chilliconcarneigh has some way to go to match her exploits but can take another step in the right direction.
