Quiet Reflection heads Temple Stakes 13 at Haydock

Quiet Reflection is one of 13 sprinters left in Saturday's Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes at Haydock.

Karl Burke's four-year-old was a revelation last summer, winning the Sandy Lane, Commonwealth Cup and Haydock Sprint Cup.

She will be dropping back to five furlongs for her return to action and Burke had admitted a fortnight ago he had not been overly pleased with her work at home.

However, the spark appears to be coming back and Burke is set to take the wraps off her this weekend when she will be giving weight away all round.

"She did her first piece of work on Sunday for 10 days and she worked nicely. It was certainly an improvement on her work over the last few weeks," he told At The Races.

"We're very happy, she's back to 90 per cent of where I'd like her to be and we'll see how the rest of the week goes.

"Her work for the last two years had always been very good, head and shoulders above everything else, this year she just wasn't quite quickening up.

"We've found a few niggly problems that we think were causing that, we're through ironing those out and that was her first piece.

"As long as the ground is the easy side of good, I'm pretty sure we'll turn up."

She could face stern opposition from Aidan O'Brien's Acapulco.

Winner of the Queen Mary for Wesley Ward two years ago, she was a cosy winner of a Listed race on her first start for her new stable.

O'Brien could also run Washington DC, beaten narrowly by Marsha in the Palace House last time out.

Clive Cox won the race with Profitable 12 months ago and this year will aim to repeat the feat with Priceless while Thesme is another mare in line to run.

Kachy, Alpha Delphini, Cotai Glory, Encore d'Or, Final Venture, Goldream, Take Cover and Waady complete the list.

Among those taken out were Marsha, Brando, The Tin Man and Profitable.
