Sir Mark Prescott to open doors to Heath House at Henry Cecil Open Weekend

Sir Mark Prescott will open Heath House Stables to the public as part of The Henry Cecil Open Weekend on Sunday 22nd September.

A new and exciting addition to the Open Weekend, Sir Mark will open his yard to visitors as per the terms of a wager with Charlie Fellowes, who stayed clean shaven for six months on Newmarket Heath!

Prescott said: "Following the shameful duplicity and mendacity of the Open Weekend Chairman, Mr Fellowes, I have been tricked and deceived into opening the historic yards at Heath House and Osborne House to the public for the first time. Nevertheless, we look forward to welcoming everyone who would like to see the unique features that are contained behind the yards’ famous glass topped walls."

Other trainers confirmed to open their yards between 9am and 12:30pm on Sunday, include; Roger Varian, James Fanshawe, Amy Murphy, David Simcock, Marco Botti, Hugo Palmer, Richard Spencer, Ed Dunlop, George Scott, Stuart Williams, Phil McEntee, Rae Guest, George Boughey, and Open Weekend Chairman, Charlie Fellowes. The full list of yards opening will be published closer to the weekend.

Godolphin Lifetime Care will also take part in this year’s Open Weekend and open the doors to Godolphin’s yard at Craven House on Newmarket’s Hamilton Road on Sunday 22nd September.

Craven House will be open from 9am to 12.30pm and there will be various ex-racehorses available to view including Dubai World Cup winners African Story and Prince Bishop, Ascot Gold Cup winners Colour Vision and Papineau.

While on Saturday 21st September, Peter O’Sullevan House, the Injured Jockeys Fund’s third Rehabilitation and Fitness Centre, just recently opened, will also be opening their doors as part of the weekend.

Another new addition to the event, visitors are welcome to the centre, located adjacent to the British Racing School, from 9am to 1pm. Equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation and fitness facilities, including physio treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, and a light and airy gym, the centre will host two gym demonstrations at 9:30am and 11am.
