The Sporting Life Pick 7 was won for the fourth time in two weeks as Cary Stewart from Arbroath won the £50,000 jackpot on Saturday.
The popular free-to-play game has now given away thousands of pounds in 2017 and 50,000 more are heading Cary’s way following another dramatic round in which more than 95,000 players took part.
It all kicked off when Old Guard won the Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle at Newbury and things got pretty simple in the next leg when Buveur D’Air cruised to an easy victory at 1/6 in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.
High Bridge landed a gamble for Ben Pauling in leg three and then Sue Smith and Danny Cook teamed up with Treshnish at Newcastle.
The fifth leg was the Ladbrokes Trophy, Total Recall overhauling Whisper late on in a thriller, before Beware The Bear got up in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle despite Sean Bowen’s saddle slipping.
It all came down to leg seven, the Ladbrokes Handicap Chase at Newbury, and 13/2 chance Overtown Express could hardly have won any easier under Noel Fehily.
That meant Cary was the sole winner of the £50,000.

Sporting Life and Sky Bet spokesman Michael Shinners said: “It always looks easy after the event but winners were not impossible to find in this week’s Sporting Life Pick 7.
“This was reflected in a number of people still having a chance of the jackpot going into the final race. After saying all this, it’s a great achievement to pick seven winners and I’m sure it will go a long way to helping Cary having a wonderful Christmas.”
