Our Duke in line for Cheltenham Gold Cup prep run at Gowran Park

Our Duke could head for the Red Mills Chase at Gowran on Saturday ahead of the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup next month.

Trainer Jessica Harrington is considering the Grade Two contest over two and a half miles for last year's Irish Grand National hero.

Our Duke showed he was returning to form after a below-par run in the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal in November - after which he subsequently underwent a back operation - when fourth to Edwulf in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown earlier this month.

"He might go to Gowran. It's the entries tomorrow and we'll see what's in it," said Harrington.

"The race won't do him any harm. It will sharpen him up a little bit."

Our Duke is a best-priced 16/1 for the Gold Cup, with defending champion and stablemate Sizing John a general 6/1 chance.
