Oli Bell's Yankee bagged three winners and a second on day one at Aintree - find out if he can go one better on Friday.
1.45 Alder Hey Children's Charity Handicap Hurdle
As you'd expect, this is a wide-open race to kick things off and any number can be given a chance, including Zubayr who goes well on flat tracks, ran well in this race last year and gets in off a couple of pounds lower.
Lough Derg Spirit could go well after a sensational start to the meeting for Nicky Henderson, while five-year-old Project Bluebook is an interesting one at a price for northern trainer John Quinn. He's going to want the ground to dry out but might improve for the step up in trip and has bits and pieces of form to make him a contender.
However, I'm going for the progressive Storm Home, who had them strung out in behind at Hereford last time and has turned a corner of late.
Colin Tizzard started the meeting with a bang and this progressive horse looks ready to make an impact on his handicap debut off what looks a workable mark.
2.50 Betway Mildmay Novices' Chase
Snow Falcon was quietly fancied for the Irish Grand National last time and while connections will have been disappointed to see him depart early, that could yet prove a blessing in disguise.
Noel Meade's horse would be the best of these on his hurdles form and his fifth in the Flogas in February is good form, while he was beaten less than two lengths behind Yanworth and Supasundae here last year.
Terrefort is a danger for the Henderson-Jacob combination that enjoyed a superb double on Thursday, but more interesting could be Coo Star Sivola even if his best form so far has come at Cheltenham.
3.25 JLT Melling Chase
The match of the day pits Ryanair winner Balko Des Flos against Champion Chase second Min, and it's the latter who gets my vote to come out on top.
Min's run behind Altior at Cheltenham was excellent and the way he travels, Aintree could well bring about improvement. There's a slight question mark about the trip at this level but I think he'll stay just fine.
Balko Des Flos has improved plenty this year and is a clear danger given the way he dealt with Un De Sceaux, but that rival was surely below his best and was perhaps fortunate to win his next start.
Min, who you sense Willie Mullins thinks can improve again, looks the pick in what could be a match.
4.05 Randox Health Topham Handicap Chase
Form over the National fences is something we'll talk about a lot over the next two days, and that points towards Ultragold repeating his Topham success of 12 months ago.
Colin Tizzard's horse is only 5lb higher despite subsequently adding an excellent second in the Grand Sefton, and while down the field in the Plate at Cheltenham he's expected to come alive again.
The danger could be Bigbadjohn, who made a winning start for Nigel Twiston-Davies - a trainer whose runners over the spruce always deserve respect.
This horse is still 6lb below his highest mark and can go well in another wide-open renewal.
