A competitive handicap for punters to get stuck into over the six furlong trip. Karijini arrives on the back of a double on the polytrack, firstly in a maiden and then following up in novice company.

This is her handicap debut and this mark may be slightly lenient so she should be in the mix despite carrying top weight.

Florencio didn’t see out the mile trip last time but is a multiple winner over this distance and may outrun his odds while Tommy G has threatened the last twice and is on his only previous winning mark though will need to settle better here.

The one I'm keen on though is the veteran of the field RICH AGAIN, who has slipped to an attractive mark at present and looks a big price.

His last win came around this time last year where he in fact landed a double here over the minimum trip with the second of those coming from a 5lb higher mark.

Since those victories he's not really threatened which has allowed him to drop down the ratings and he comes into this on the back of a good third over five furlongs here and although he's mostly used over that trip these days he's still got the form at six furlongs to figure, with four previous wins at this trip.

Jamie Spencer is a positive jockey booking and the three-time course winner can go close on a surface he relishes.

At first glance this hinted at being a pretty open contest but on closer inspection it doesn't look as though it'll take much winning, with plenty of question marks surrounding many of these in regards to the trip and surface.

One of those that would have a chance is last-time-out winner Joyful Star who has been raised 7lb for a victory here over a furlong shorter three weeks ago.

The worry, however, is this eight-year-old hasn't shown his best form over this mile trip so is passed over.

Honey Badger is entitled to run his race as he's yet to finish out of the places at Gosforth Park having won one of those but the vote goes to Ann Duffield's four-year-old MIMIC'S MEMORY.

This filly has only the one career win so far from 15 starts but has dropped to her lowest handicap mark which is 2lb below her winning perch.

That victory came over seven furlongs but she's seemingly run better over this mile journey and arguably produced her best race over this course and distance when beaten a head in May of last year.

As touched upon, it looks a weak contest and if this filly can run anywhere near the way she did here last May then she may well take some beating with Joe Fanning as her pilot.
