A quickfire dash down the home straight of Gosforth Park has produced an 11-strong field and it's sure to be fast and furious.

Windforpower has notched up a course and distance double over this winter period before finishing a well-held sixth from this revised mark latest.

He's still 7lb below his highest winning mark though so it wouldn't be a surprise to see a revival as he has a good record here.

Economic Crisis could outrun his large odds now dropped back into this 0-70 handicap in which he's won seven times in and although the veteran of the field he's done the majority of his winning over the minimum trip and is unexposed on this surface.

Big Lachie was second here from a 2lb higher mark but has been soundly beaten in three subsequent starts and for me is a surprising favourite so this may open the door for David O'Meara's HAMISH MCGONAGAIN.

This five-year-old had five of these in behind when beaten by a length in second here on his latest outing and is only a pound higher here which isn't unfair as that was arguably one of his best efforts.

Prior to that race he'd won over this trip at Wolverhampton before going very close a couple of times after and at the age of five is still on the upgrade.

He's a three-time winner over this trip and although yet to win at this track he has managed a couple of wins on Wolverhampton's tapeta so has no qualms with the surface and this son of Kyllachy is taken to gain a first course win.
