Mick Quinn is leaning towards keeping Great Hall at Pattern-race level in the Group Three Worthington's Indigo Leisure Stakes at Newbury on Saturday week.
After having rattled off a hat-trick in handicaps, the son of Halling finished a respectable sixth when stepped into Group Three level at Ascot last time.
The seven-year-old could now stay at that level at Newbury, in race better known as the St Simon Stakes.
Quinn said: "It just dried out at Ascot. They didn't go quick enough for him and he stayed on at the one pace. I think he would have been closer if the ground was softer.
"There is the Group Three at Newbury and there is also a handicap at Leicester on the Monday after that.
"The weather will decide where we go. If it was soft I would like to go Newbury then he could go for the November Handicap (Doncaster) afterwards."
