Mutakayyef still on target for Dubai Turf

Mutakayyef is still on course for the Dubai Turf despite missing the Winter Derby at Lingfield.

William Haggas was forced to pull his Summer Mile winner out of the all-weather highlight at the 11th hour, after finding him with an abscess on his foot on Saturday morning.

He will now have a racecourse gallop before embarking on his trip to Meydan.

"His foot is fine, it was just very unfortunate timing," said Haggas.

"He'll be back ridden tomorrow and there's no question of it ruling him out of Dubai.

"It's a shame we can't get a run into him first, but he was fairly fit for Saturday.

"I'm just viewing it as God's way! He obviously didn't want me to get a run into him first.

"We'll take him away for a gallop somewhere first, that will put him right."
