Karl Burke celebrated another Pattern-race winner in France when Little Kim bounced back to winning ways with victory in the in the Prix du Bois at Deauville.
Having claimed this year's Prix Saint Alary and Prix de Diane with stable star Laurens, the Leyburn handler struck again, this time at Group Three level with the two-year-old daughter of Garswood
Responding well to pressure, the 6-1 shot, who finished eighth in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, gathered plenty of late momentum to defeat the Wesley Ward-trained Chelsea Cloisters by a length in the five-furlong affair.
Fellow British raider Shumookhi, from the Archie Watson yard, was a further short-head back in third.
Burke said: "It was a very good run and it was great to see her get some Group-race black type, which for a filly is very important. She is tough and genuine and she has got ability. She has franked the form of the Queen Mary as she had Chelsea Cloisters and Shumookhi behind her and they were about identical distances away today.
"She showed a little bit of temperament at the start, as she was a bit stubborn in the stalls, but in the race she was sweet as a nut and Ben Curtis gave her a great ride. She would not have won the race at the furlong pole, but she stayed on really well and was going away from them at the end. We will definitely try her over further.
"We will enter her in the Prix Robert Papin, whether we go there or not I don't know, but plenty of options are open to her. I think she is a genuine Group Three filly. We will take it one step at a time with her, but she has probably done her job and anything else is a bonus."
