Gary Moore admits Sire De Grugy concerns

Gary Moore admits Sire De Grugy will have to start showing a bit more on the gallops at home before he is seen back on the track.

The 11-year-old has not run since unseating Jamie Moore in the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton back in December.

Sire De Grugy has bypassed a couple of options since that upset and Moore reports that he has not been sparkling at home, although he has been working with Sunday's impressive National Spirit Hurdle winner Camping Ground.

Moore said: "It depends on how he works. If he doesn't improve, he probably won't run again this season.

"It does need to improve, but saying that his last bit of work was with Camping Ground. It went very well, but he didn't work as well Camping Ground did, though."

Sire De Grugy is entered in both the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at next month's Festival.
