Monday racing preview & tips

Nick Robson says Upstaging can defy a big weight in the Sky Bet Windsor Sprint Series Finale Handicap on Monday.

Upstaging ran a screamer in the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood and can defy a big weight in the Sky Bet Windsor Sprint Series Finale Handicap.

Paul Cole's five-year-old had won his previous start over this course and distance but racing off 6lb higher in one of the most competitive races of the season, he was beaten less than a length.

His old rival Stake Acclaim will take plenty of beating again, despite a career-high mark having won at the Shergar Cup meeting, while Atletico remains of a horse of potential.

However, David Egan got a good tune out of Upstaging last time and can claim the biggest prize of his career, with a whopping £75,000 up for grabs.

Rebecca Menzies has made a fine start to her training career and Landing Night can give her a nice winner in the Racing UK Club Day Handicap at Thirsk.

Useful for Ann Duffield in his younger days, he has been running consistently well all season.

Despite this, he has dropped down to a mark of 72, 3lb below his last winning mark on the all-weather last December.

He is well drawn on the stands rail and should at least run his race in a field in which the majority of his rivals are out of form.

The opening British Stallion Studs EBF - Racing UK.com/HD Novice Stakes should go to Tom Dascombe's No I'm Easy.

He made his debut in a decent event at Ascot and beat all bar Charlie Appleby's promising Mythical Magic.

The winner has since travelled over to France and won a Listed race, with contests like the Champagne Stakes and Dewhurst now on his agenda.

While Dascombe's youngster was over two lengths behind, he beat the rest fair and square and unless one of the newcomers is above average, a maiden win looks a formality.

Ralph Beckett's Love Conquers is unlucky to still be a maiden but should take plenty of beating in the 188bet.co.uk Handicap at Lingfield.

By the brilliant Japanese stallion Deep Impact, she was last of nine on her debut but took a huge step forward when second at Windsor in June.

Last time out she looked sure to collect at Newbury when attempting to make all, but she was collared in the final strides.

Starting life handicapping off a mark of just 71, she can continue her progression.

Donald McCain has his string of summer jumpers at the top of their games and What Happens Now can bring up his hat-trick in the Hardwick Hall Hotel Novices' Hurdle at Hexham.

A thorough stayer, the stiff trip over three miles will really play to his strengths and he can follow up recent wins at Cartmel and Perth.
