HORSE RACING: Awesome Allan 3.40 Windsor - 100/30 into 11/8

A drop to five furlongs saw Awesome Allan return to form last week as he was just touched off at Nottingham. A winner off 77 there last season, he's clearly thrown-in off a mark of 60 now and providing he can bring that form to Windsor, a big run seems assured. That's certainly the view of the market, with this horse having been smashed into clear favouritism throughout the morning.

Best bets

HORSE RACING: Dark Mahler in 5.00 Plumpton

"Making his handicap debut over fences today off 106, he looks capable of proving competitive. The yard enjoyed a winner who was returning off a break at the weekend and, in a modest-looking contest, 5/1 looks worth chancing." (Murt Khan)

HORSE RACING: Hyanna in 2.20 Pontefract

"There's plenty of guesswork involved with her, but the likely good gallop and soft ground are in her favour, while she should get into a nice position quickly from stall two under David Allan. Allan and Tim Easterby have enjoyed a fruitful season at Pontefract, and in handicap debutante Hyanna they have another live chance of getting in the winners' enclosure." (Ben Linfoot)

TENNIS: Juan Martin Del Potro to win Swiss Indoors

"The in-form Argentine has a strong record in Basel. A two-time champion, Del Potro has won 18 of 22 matches at the venue and only once in six visits has he lost before the quarter-finals.Of particular significance is the fact that on two occasions he has defeated Federer in his own back yard. Both of those matches were finals and the pair could meet in the title match again this year with Del Potro having been drawn in the opposing half to the top seed." (Andy Schooler)

GREYHOUNDS: Swithins Beans (T6) in 9.24 Doncaster

"Swithins Beans (T6) hasn’t had a look round but won first time up at Nottingham in August so should be fine in the RPGTV Standard at 9.24. The Sheffield raider, who made the semi-finals of the Puppy Classic at the Colwick Park circuit, has been found a real opening against these rivals and has been running well at his local track in recent weeks." (Matt Salter)
