Mark Johnston's Mildenberger set for Grand Prix de Paris

Mark Johnston is eyeing a tilt at the Grand Prix de Paris with Mildenberger after a setback ruled out an intended appearance at Royal Ascot.

The son of Teofilo made a successful start to his three-year-old campaign with victory in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket in April and was last seen chasing home Roaring Lion in last month's Dante at York.

On the strength of that form he appeared a major contender for last Friday's King Edward VII Stakes, but Johnston was forced to withdraw his charge at the confirmation stage.

"He was lame at the beginning of last week with an abscess in his foot," said the Middleham-based trainer.

"It should be over relatively soon. He will probably aim for the Grand Prix de Paris now."
