Nicky Henderson's classy chaser Might Bite is on track to run in the 188Bet Future Stars Intermediate Chase at Sandown on Sunday.
A faller when well clear in the Feltham Novices' Chase last Christmas, he made amends in the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March – albeit giving his supporters a scare after the last.
Having jumped his rivals into the ground, he appeared to try and pull himself up, only to rally and beat stablemate Whisper. He also defeated that same rival in the Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree.
Might Bite is now set to make his seasonal reappearance over three miles at Sandown in a race won by Coneygree two years ago.
David Minton, one of 10 syndicate members of the Knot Again Partnership which owns Might Bite, told Press Association Sport: "He should be going to Sandown. I saw him on Friday and Nicky's very happy with him.
"He wouldn't want any firm in the ground, but that's probably unlikely. He'd done very well (over the summer) and looks tremendous. It will be fascinating."
Might Bite is available at odds of around 10/1 about winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup next March.
Henderson has also entered Top Notch, who is thought more likely to head to Aintree on Saturday, and O O Seven.
Paul Nicholls has entered As De Mee and Frodon, while Alan King could run Label Des Obeaux.
Calett Mad, Fact Of The Matter, Final Nudge, Shantou Village and Sir Ivan complete the 11-strong list at the entry stage.
