A tilt at Melbourne Cup glory remains under consideration for Rekindling following his fourth place in the St Leger at Doncaster earlier this month.
Joseph O'Brien's three-year-old was doing his best work at the finish on Town Moor and was beaten just two lengths into fourth by Irish Derby hero Capri, trained by O'Brien's father, Aidan.
Rekindling is owned by Australian businessman Lloyd Williams and holds entries in both the Melbourne Cup and the Caulfield Cup in Australia.
Should he remain at home, the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot on October 21 is a potential target.
O'Brien said: "He's come out of Doncaster well. We're very happy with him. Australia is still under consideration and Ascot is an option as well. I'd say it's 50-50 between the two at the moment.
"If he's going to Australia I think he needs to go into quarantine on September 28, so we've got to decide before then.
"If he goes to Australia, he's in the Melbourne Cup and the Caulfield Cup the week before. The Melbourne Cup is probably the more likely."
Sky Bet offer 40/1 about Rekindling (non-runner/no bet) for the Melbourne Cup and are also paying SIX places.
Riven Light could make his Australian debut in the Caulfield Stakes on October 14.
The five-year-old endured a largely disappointing campaign as a novice hurdler during the last National Hunt season, but has been fine form on the Flat this summer, winning three of his last four starts.
He was an impressive winner of the BMW Mile at the Galway Festival and has since landed a conditions race at Tipperary and a Listed prize at Listowel to earn himself a trip Down Under.
The Cox Plate and the Caulfield Cup have been mooted as possible targets, but Mullins has identified the Caulfield Stakes - won last year by Australian wonder-mare Winx - as a likely first port of call.
"Riven Light will probably go for the Caulfield Stakes as his first race (in Australia) and then see how he goes from there," said the Closutton handler.
Mullins is set to send a team of four horses across the globe, adding: "Riven Light and Wicklow Brave are both in quarantine at the moment, and Thomas Hobson and Max Dynamite both go (into quarantine) next week."
